Cinnamon Apple Chips

Thin apple slices dried into sweet, crisp coins. No sugar needed — the fruit does it on its own.

  • 3 firm apples, cored and sliced 2–3 mm thin, ideally on a mandoline
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, stops them browning

Steps

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 150°C / 300°F.

  2. Toss the slices with lemon juice and cinnamon, then pat them dry — surface moisture stops them crisping.

  3. Lay the slices flat in a single layer, overlapping as little as possible.

  4. Cook for 7 minutes.

  5. Turn the slices over — they are floppy at this stage and crisp as they cool.

  6. Cook for a further 7 minutes, then cool completely on a rack to finish crisping.

Slices must lie flat in one layer to crisp — expect 2–3 batches from 3 apples.
